About Dr. Bilton

Dr. Bradley D. Bilton received his graduate degree and medical doctorate in Louisiana. He then completed his residency program in General Surgery. During that time, he participated in research and is a published author and co-author. Following this he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques).

After completing his fellowship in 2001 he moved to Tuscaloosa and joined University Surgical Associates. Upon his arrival he ushered in advanced minimally invasive surgery and these techniques continue to be the focus of his practice.

Our staff has extensive experience in bariatrics and have assisted over 1000 patients interested in weight loss surgery. This is above and beyond the patients that are seen for other surgical problems. They strive to ensure that each and every patient receives the proper care with as little wait time as possible. From insurance to consults and post operative visits and adjustments, our staff is ready and willing to coordinate an effective plan aimed at maximum success.

Hospital Affiliations

Our practice is affiliated with the DCH Regional Medical Center and Tuscaloosa Surgical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. The DCH Health System is widely recognized as one of the most comprehensive and advanced medical systems in the region and the Surgical Center is a state of the art outpatient surgical facility. DCH is one of very few hospitals throughout the country that has remained under local ownership and leadership for more than 75 years. The DCH Health System is continually evolving to ensure the maximum care for patients in West Alabama and is a not-for-profit organization.

DCH Regional Medical Center is the flagship of the DCH system. At 583 beds the Regional Medical Center offers a variety of specialty units and advanced services, including cancer, cardiology, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, and an advanced trauma center. It also has several area hospital that operate under the auspices of the DCH system.
